As I write this, I'm sitting and eating some farm-fresh yogurt topped with some of the peaches from my summer CSA that I put up in July and sipping a cup of coffee, what could make a cold December day better than that?
I've been so busy (or just plain not feeling well) for the past two weeks, it's nice to have a moment that's just quiet. Before the craziness that is the first weekend in December is upon me: Go to D's lab party, hang out in D's office for a bit and get some work/holiday knitting done, head out to NJ for a cookie decorating party. This whole buying/making Christmas gifts thing becomes a whole lot more stressful when you're trying to get things in the mail before a certain deadline.
But there's good food. So everything is fine.
This week:
3 itty-bitty heads of red cabbage
2 tiny celeriac
carrots
2 lb broccoli
2 lb cauliflower
Japanese turnips
baby bok choy
onions
kale
1 dozen eggs
16 oz plain yogurt
16 oz yogurt-orange smoothie
feta cheese
mozzarella curds
and....
Seriously. The thing weighs two pounds.
I'm excited about the celeriac, but not quite sure what I'll do with it.
Thoughts?
celeriac keeps for quite some time if stored properly... I am posting a recipe for it this week :)
