My adventures in eating all of the produce from my CSA (no matter how unusual it may be) and trying to eat as locally as possible.

My New Favorite After School Snack: Kale-Romano Popcorn
It's hard to remember when you listen to everything going on in the media, but teachers are people too.
No, I'm not going to go on some sort of tirade about the state of the American education system, teacher preparation programs, teacher evaluations, and compensation; the Common Core Standards, high-stakes assessments, inclusion, special education, and English Language Learners.
And believe me, I have a lot to say.
That's really not the purpose of this blog though...The purpose of this blog is food. And my real point is: teachers need after school snacks too.

Rosemary and Sea Salt Sourdough
My second
wild yeast adventure.
Unfortunately,
I'm going to have to start my starter all over again. Yes, Audrey
is no more.
Starters
are supposed to be OK in the fridge for a couple of days, but I guess I was
gone a couple too many days. I remembered to remind D to feed the cat, but
forgot to explain about feeding Audrey. By the time I came back from my visit
to my family upstate, she had developed a grayish blue layer of liquid on top.
This was not the normal liquid that starters often develop. This was gross and
probably involved mold. Sigh.
At least
I know what I'm doing now, right?
